The opportunities that the Oregon Coast Youth Symphony Festival affords its participants – the chance to perform for and meet with like-minded and passionate young musicians – are invaluable. In many cases, these kinds of festivals loom as highlights in the musical and social development of people throughout their lives.

Classical music programs must be actively cultivating the next generation of symphonic musicians and audiences otherwise we cannot expect to have symphonies in the future. The incredible experience provided by the Festival activities in Newport will no doubt shape the lives of countless participants and help cultivate the next generation of orchestral musicians.

Now in its 55th season, the Eugene Symphony is recognized as a cornerstone of the performing arts in Oregon’s southern Willamette Valley. Under the leadership of Music Director and Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong, the Eugene Symphony pursues its mission of enriching lives through the power of music by presenting annual classical, pops and community engagement performances, regularly commissioning and premiering new American works, and disseminating its performances via radio broadcasts and recordings.

As the longest continually-operating orchestra in the state, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra is a major force in the music scene of the Willamette Valley. From its inception in 1906 as a collegiate orchestra composed of nine male members, the symphony has grown into a highly regarded, 110-member ensemble performing five major concerts each season. Conductor Marlan Carlson, Oregon State University Endowed Chair for University Orchestras integrates student, faculty and professional musicians from Portland, Eugene and Corvallis.

The Newport Symphony Orchestra at the Ocean is the only year-round, professional symphony orchestra on the Oregon coast. Home base for the orchestra is the Alice Silverman Theater at the Newport Performing Arts Center, just a few steps away from the gorgeous Oregon seashore in historic Nye Beach. We are inspired to share our love for music as a source of joy and lasting memories. Through our concerts, outreach, and educational programs, we act on our belief that music contributes vitally to the social, cultural, and economic strength of our community.

For over 30 years the Oregon East Symphony & Chorale has provided Pendleton and its surrounding rural region with high quality musical experiences and events. A volunteer Board of Directors guides the organization, which is administered by a management team consisting of an executive director and office support. This team, with the help of many devoted volunteers, facilitates an annual concert season. Our Music Director and Conductor, Beau Benson, travels from Waco, Texas, to rehearse and conduct three of our symphony performances. Educaiton Di is our assistant conductor and conductor for the A Sharp Players. Steve Muller, from Pendleton, is our Chorale Director.

The Rogue Valley Symphony is committed to bringing thrilling live performances of classical music to those living in and visiting the communities of Southern Oregon. We believe music is essential to the human experience and has the power to enrich lives beyond measure. We strive to offer you an exciting and memorable experience whether it is your first time, or your hundredth time, attending one of our concerts. Made up of professional musicians from the local area and beyond, the symphony’s musicians come from as far away as Portland, Eugene, Sacramento and even the Bay area – attracted by the beauty of our area, the opportunity to work under Maestro Majkut, and by the chance to perform interesting repertoire in a supportive working environment. Music education is a primary part of our mission; we offer multiple programs that serve students in our public schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Central Oregon Symphony is a community-based orchestra, the success of which is grounded in the tremendous generosity of its members who volunteer their time and talent for the love of orchestral music. The ensemble was formed in 1967 as a part of the expanding Central Oregon Community College Fine Arts Department. From modest beginnings the orchestra has grown to become a major player in the local fine arts scene. The symphony celebrated its 50th season in 2016-2017.
